About Black Dog Sports

I started Black Dog Sports in 1998 to combine video with the sport that I love–fly fishing. My goal is to promote fly fishing, as well as the conservation efforts surrounding the sport.

My first project was to write and publish a stream side guidebook for Missouri’s trout streams, followed by a 60-minute video "Fly Fishing Missouri’s Trout Streams." (an updated version is in the works.) My next program "Fly Fishing the Ozarks: North Fork of the White River" aired on Kansas City public television station in 2001.

Since then I have produced a series of instructional videos with Fly Fishing Guide, Norm Crisp of Stream Side Adventures I produced a series of instruction videos. We have also traveled to Wyoming to videotape the Wyoming Cutt Slam–the state program on catching (and releasing) the 4 subspecies of native Cutthroat Trout.

In Production – I am currently finishing production on the Wyoming Cutt Slam video. Black Dog Sports is also working with fly fishing guide Clint Wilkinson (Wilkinson Outdoor Adventures) on fly fishing the White River tailwaters in Arkansas. And as part of a new series called "Casting Reflections," we videotaped "Opening Day" of the Missouri trout season at Bennett Spring State Park.
