"Fly Fishing Missouri's Trout Streams" guides you through what you need to know to catch Missouri's wily trout -

packaged in an easy to carry streamside guide that fits in your fishing vest. Now you can get the information you

need when you're in the water - when you really need it

The guide is divided into two sections - How to and Where to.

The How to section gives you the hands on knowledge you need to find and catch your prey. The guide describes the equipment you need as well as gives  illustrated views of the all important knots to make you trip successful.

You will learn how to understand trout-what they eat and where they hang out. However, reading the water and matching the hatch are just a few of the  fundamentals you need to know when going against the wary trout.

The Where to section gives detailed maps, stream characteristics and descriptions of the Trout Management areas designated by the Missouri Conservation  Department. Missouri boosts the most natural springs than any other state and these sources of cold water gives trout the environment they need to thrive.

Although trout are not native to Missouri, some streams have been stocked as far back as the late 1890's. Many populations have flourished and for the others,  the Conservation department helps out with their stocking efforts and the five trout hatcheries.

There are four types of trout management areas in Missouri - Regular, Special, Wild and Trout Parks with size and possession limits to ensure that there will be  trout populations for years to come.
